Catch Up

Not that blogging has even been my passion but I do enjoy it. That being said I have obviously not made an effort in the last year but that will all change soon! I intend to document all the new adventures to come in the next season of my life. Here's the last 12 months in fast forward. Summer 2010 consisted of working at Macys, living with an amazing family, spending time with my dear friends, and narrowing down the list of grad schools and preparing for my senior year at Truman. First semester was filled with craziness- I started a new organization, acted as a student clinician- terrifying but wonderfully rewarding, visited and applied to Audiology programs i sought to be a part of, and generally trying to stay on top of everything. I made it through with great encouragement from those closest to me and by December had my sights set on attending either University of Kansas Medical Center or Washington University and all that I saw coming from that. Second semester taught me all about patience, trust, and obedience. In times of excitement, fear, or indifference about the future I leaned on my loving God- one whose plan far exceeded my wildest dreams. He lead me to apply to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in the fall, then to have a fantastic phone interview- in which I became overwhelmed with sense of calm and excitement. Of course this then lead to a weekend trip to Knoxville- I didn't know what to expect but I enjoyed every moment of the trip. I wasn't terrified that the campus is twice the size of the city i currently live in. or by the fact that I do not have any family or friends within a 5 hr drive. Instead I was silenced by what a great fit it was, by the fact that I wasn't supposed to love it- that it wasn't in the plan. But that's the great thing- It wasn't my plan it was the Lord stretching me, teaching me to obey and to trust, telling me to step outside my comfort zone and take a chance.
So that, my friends, is what I am doing!

I am moving to Knoxville, TN to get my doctorate in Audiology
(nothing about this statement is what i would have expected 2 years ago)!
